Dr. Yoobeen Ahn was born in South Korea and her family moved to New Zealand when she was 11 years old. She has lived in Milford mostly and attended Westlake Girls School. After graduating from University of Otago with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction), she continued to study for a Masters in Preventive and Public Health Dentistry to pursue her passion in promoting oral health for the wider public.
She was involved in multiple government-led researches and many of her studies were published in prestigious medical and dental journals including Atherosclerosis and Journal of Clinical Periodontology. She also delivered presentations at international conferences such as the European Public Health Association Conference. She taught students at dental school before she began working in private clinics. With her expertise in preventive and public health dentistry, she endeavours to provide preventive and minimally invasive treatments for patients of all ages. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a special interest in orthodontics and dental implants, she is passionate about delivering smiles to patients’ faces. She is an accredited provider of Fastbraces.
She met her husband at dental school who is also a public health dentist and the couple is married with one baby girl. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis at the local club with her family. She also has a great appreciation for arts and classical music. Yoobeen speaks English, Korean and Japanese.
Soo born and brought up in Seoul was in the process of pursuing her career in the States, during a short visit in 2008 got mesmerized by the Kiwi life style and fell in love with beautiful New Zealand.She is very excited to be a part of the management at GF Dentists and is committed to offering excellent care in a friendly and calm environment. Dr Soo enjoys dentistry but is passionate especially about Cosmetic Dentistry and has special interests in Root canal treatments and Orthodontic Smile makeovers. In her spare time, she loves to watch movies, read, cycle, travel and try new restaurants. She is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association while being actively finding time to up-skill her expertise in golf.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree and a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He was trained under Carl Misch for Implant surgery. He also studied PerioProsthodontics and Implantology from Ajou university of South Korea. He volunteered in many countries such as Honduras, Mexico, Jamaica, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Philippines to help local people with his dental skills. He listens to his patients and cares for them.
